Tour Outline: Srinagar – Kargil(01) – Leh(04) – Khardongla – Diskit – Hundar(01) – Pangong(01) – Leh-Kargil(01) – Srinagar(04) – Sonmarg – Gulmarg – Pahalgam – Srinagar.

Day 1: Srinagar – Sonmarg(Sightseeing) – Kargil (205 kms)

Pick up from Srinagar &drive to one of the most exhilarating and beautiful drive in the world ,Srinagar to Leh via Kargil and road passes through the panoramic village to reach Sonmarg (2740 mts), which follows up with lush green fields on both the sides. After Sonmarg the road is mostly rough and wet to Zojila pass 3527 mts (Gateway of Ladakh) mostly covered with snow and the drive continue  towards Drass (the second coldest inhibited place in the world) were we stop for refreshments and ID Proof / Passport check. Another few hours’ drive will take us to Kargil (2710 mts) which is our mid way to Leh. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2:  Kargil – Leh (235 kms)

After Breakfast, A full day drive, a transition from green valley’s to barren stark mountains of Ladakh. Today we ascend few passes and experience the first Buddhist village, Mulbek, the gaint statue of Matreya buddha, believed to be naturally existed. We cross the highest pass (Fotula 4166 mts.) reaching Lamayuru village and later we will be at Lamayuru oldest Monastery. Continue drive through the lower valleys of Ladakh (shyam) with crossing  village like basgo, Nimu a view of Zanskar River following into Indus and the confluence and ultimately we reach Leh (3500 mts). Overnight at hotel.

Day 03: Leh –Leisure – City at glance (Rafting Optional)

After Breakfast, Visit the Leh Palace – the battle scarred and deserted 16th century ruins of the royal residence built by Singge Namgyal, Sankar Gompa & Shanti Stupa Overnight at hotel.

Day 04: Nubra valley(135km)

Highlights: Sandunes – Bacterian (Double Hump camel) ride- Monasteries – Khardongla Pass (Highest Motor vehicle road -18444ft.). After an early breakfast, drive to beautiful Nubra Valley via Khardongla (Highest Motor vehicle road in the World, 18,380 ft) with the zigzag trail continues and drive till Hundar village. On arrival check in Nature’s nest North camp. Afternoon enjoy the beauty of sand dune and double hump camel. Overnight at Nature’s Nest North Camp or similar.

Day 05: Diskit – Sumur – Leh

Today, we get up early morning After Breakfast visit to Diskit monastery and have wonderful view of Nubra valley. Later drive to Sumur village and back to Leh via same trail of Khardung village and Khardongla Pass. Overnight Hotel.

Day 06: Leh – Thiksay – Pangong lake (165km)

Highlights: Changla Pass (17,500 ft) – Pangong Lake (Asia’s largest brackish salt water lake) – Birds and wildlife – yak rides.

Today after early breakfast, start your drive to Pangong lake via Thiksay monastery and Shay. Enjoy the turquoise color panoramic lake and the magnificent mountains and landscapes which will leave you awestruck. Spent your afternoon enjoy the beauty of Pangong lake and check in Nature’s Nest camp. Overnight Camp

Day 07: Pangong – Leh

After a late breakfast, we stroll in and around lake and watch the mother nature soothes you. Later drive back to Leh by visiting Thiksay monasteries and Shay Palace (if not visited the day before). Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 08: Leh – Kargil (215 km)

Highlights : 1999 war memorials -monasteries -Gurudwara-Zojila pass (13,000ft )Leh-Srinagar highway Early morning drive to Kargil visiting Hall of fame, Magnetic hill, Gurudwara Pathar sahib, Sangam (confluence) of Indus and Zanskar. Overnight at hotel.

Day 09: Kargil – Srinagar (260 km)

Early Morning, After Breakfast Check out from Hotel – Reach the capital of Kashmir. Srinagar, the summer capital of Kashmir, stands on Dal Lake and picturesque Jhelum River. The more modern part of the city is further up the Jhelum River (above its famous seven bridges), which sweeps through Srinagar. Arrive Srinagar and transfer to Houseboat.  And here they laid, with great love and care, Srinagar’s many formal, water-front gardens, now collectively known as the Mughal Gardens. Afternoon Shikara boat ride. Over Night in Houseboat.

Day 10: Srinagar (Local sightseeing)

After Breakfast, We begin to explore the paradise with a half day tour of world famous Mughal Gardens built during the Mughal reign in Kashmir, the Nishat Bagh (The garden of pleasure) and Shalimar Bagh (Abode of love).Overnight In Hotel.

Day 11 Srinagar – Gulmarg – Srinagar (65 km)

Today After Breakfast you will be visit Gulmarg, Meadow of Flowers.  Situated at an altitude of 2730 meters, full day at leisure to take the leisurely walks on the lush green meadows of flowers with a backdrop of the snow capped mountains. Enjoy pony ride or Gondola ride (rope way Own Cost) to Khilangmarg at your own cost. Then Return back to Srinagar and Overnight in Hotel.

Day 12: Srinagar – Pahalgam  – Srinagar (65 km)

Early morning breakfast, Visit to Chandanwari , the snow Point (14 Km) at your own cost or enjoy pony ride (at your own) cost, rest of the day at leisure to explore the countryside and enjoy leisurely walks through the pine forest along the River Lidder. Then Return Back To Srinagar Overnight in Hotel.

Day 13: Srinagar (Airport drop)

After Breakfast transfer to Airport with sweet memories of unforgettable Ladakh and Kashmir Thanks for Travelling with IHT Ladakh.
